Craft Life While on Quarantine

Hello everyone! Wherever you are, I hope you’re all safe and healthy. If you’re sick, I hope you’ll feel better and get well soon. We're on our 8th month of quarantine here in the Philippines. Currently, just to brief you, Metro Manila is still under GCQ due to the ongoing pandemic (Covid 19). This means that most essential industries and government offices have returned to their new normal operations.  Malls and restaurants have partially opened but with a lot of limitations.  High-risk individuals are not yet allowed to go out of their homes unless it is absolutely necessary.  Anyway, here is a link for more information about GCQ guidelines, should you be interested to know:

I’m hoping for the best in these hard times. Even though I love staying at home, it is no easy task for everyone.  But, let us not be depressed.  Let’s keep our faith strong and our bodies healthy. Here’s what I’ve been doing and what you can do to pass the time. Believe me, time really flies so fast.  If I could extend the 24 hours, I would!

1.  Crocheting

2.  Cooking and trying new recipes

3.  Watching a lot of You Tube video tutorials and ASMR videos.  Need to relax! :)

4.  Sewing face masks

5.  Making face shields

6.  Organizing  and decluttering around the house

7.  Decluttering and reorganizing my craft room.  It needed an army of termites to push me to finally tackle my craft room.  I’ll show you in another post what happened.

8.  Helping my daughter with her online distance learning activities.

10.  Doing a lot of DIYs and as always, crafting, crafting, crafting

I’ll show all of these in my upcoming posts.  Till then, Happy Crafting! 🥰

Reviving My Blog

Where do I begin?

So much had happened for the past 5 years.  Not all of them bad though!  I just want to start with a little drama.  But to be honest, my blogging took a back seat.  Life had been very busy while taking care of the family, Nina's schooling, parents getting older and needing more attention, etc.

Crafting?  Of course, I'm still doing it, and I'll keep on doing it till I'm six feet below the ground.  Can I take my craft tools with me?  (Ooopps!!! Getting a bit morbid eh! :p)

Seriously, I still do a lot of crafting.  Most of which are related to my daughter's school activities.  Paper crafting and crocheting are still very much part of my life. But now I want to improve my writing skills too and to venture on other types of crafts.

What's my plan? None, so far.  I just hope that I'll be able to improve my blog and keep this up.  Wish me luck!  And as always, HAPPY CRAFTING!!! 😘🙏💗

School Portfolio

My daughter had already started preschool and one of our assigned tasks was to decorate their school portfolio and have it covered with plastic.  Since, I'm rather busy with other activities, I decided to use digital scrapbooking to decorate her portfolio.  I used an iPad application called, Scrap It HD, for doing the layout.  To give life and dimension to my project.  I reprinted some of the digital embellishments and cut it out and attached it on top of the same embellishments using a foam adhesive.  Nina's quite happy with her portfolio, and I had an enjoyable time of doing it for her.

There are lots of scrapbooking applications in both Android and Apple IOS.  It helps save time and money since scrap supplies are rather expensive.

I used my handmade cloud stamp to create a border for the layout.

Try it too!  Happy crafting! :)

Happy Father's Day

My daughter got in the mood for cardmaking together with her cousins last June 15.  They were making cards for their father to celebrate Happy Father's Day on June 16th.  Nina was quietly and patiently collecting all the scraps of papers left by her cousins.  After a while she came to me and showed me her finished product.  My, I think she has the makings of a great abstract artist.  What do you think? :)

P.S.  I had to help her write the card greetings, she can't write yet. :)
